Don’t hold your breath on their warranty…, March 24, 2009

I purchased this watch a couple of years ago…the tritium coating on the illuminated portions of the watch have faded into nearly nothing with regards to illumination.

I sent the watch to Universal Watch Repair, Traser’s official repair shop. They wanted $168.00 plus shipping to replace the failed illuminated components.

Traser won’t cover them, despite their bragging on their websites that the illumination is guaranteed for ten years. They say that it is normal for the illumination qualities to fade and that my watch, which has no illumination left in it, is normal per their guidelines.

Interesting that the repair place said it needed to be replaced, but Traser would not honor their warranty…

    Buyer beware!

My friends, much less cool Timex watch has out performed this watch at far less the cost…this is very sad to me.

    Very Disappointed!

The “crystal” cracked after only a week of non-traumatic wear.I called BlueDial, who provided the watch for Amazon. BlueDial refused to even discuss an exchange or refund.I then notified Amazon, and they backed up BlueDial. This was the last time I will purchase through Amazon.

    6 month review of the H3, September 9, 2010

I bought my H3 about 6 months ago.

    THE GOOD:

    1. Extremely accurate timing. I set this watch to the USNO Master clock when I first got it and over the past 6 months, it has only gained 2 seconds over the USNO clock.

2.Awesome brightness at night. In low to no light conditions the Tritium makes for an easy read of the time. So bright, I think you could find your way out of a zero light cave if needed.

3.Rugged. I have only taken this watch off my wrist a few times. I wear it every where all the time and it’s had its share of bumps, water and chemical exposure.

4.Light weight and comfortable. I forget it’s even on my wrist at times.

    THE BAD:

1.Pricey. You definitely won’t be wearing a watch that comes close to looking like what you paid for it. The plastic housing, even though light and durable, seems a bit cheap.

2.Bezel numbers are painted on and not inscribed. They can rub off fairly easy and do not stand up to chemicals such as sun block at all. My watch has lost the bezel indexing numbers all together.

3.No Tritium on the second hand. A little disappointed that there is no way to judge the passing seconds in no light conditions.

    BOTTOM LINE:

1.Would I buy an H3 again? No – For all the reasons listed in the BAD above.

2.Would I buy a Traser watch again? Yes – I am impressed with the accuracy of the timing of this great Swiss watch and the Tritium glow is again, awesome. I think I’d rather spend the extra money for one of their all metal stainless watches for my next purchase.
