I purchased this mount for $4.50, and another similar mount for $14.50. They looked nearly the same with the similar mount just a little heavier. I gave one to my daughter (’05 jeep laredo) and one to my sis-in-law (’09 camry). Both were extremely happy, so I would recommend the less expensive unit. Wish they made a similar mount for Magellans.

This air vent mount works great! You can’t beat it for the price. I’m able to view the GPS and not loose focus of the road. I first ordered only one. After seeing how well it worked, I ordered another one for my other car. My daughter has since ordered one, too. The only reason I rated it 4 stars is because it’s a little awkward to insert the mount into the vent when the GPS is attached. But, once it was in I had no complaints. Make sure your vent has at least 3/8″ space between the louvers for easy installation.

  3. I purchased this item with the intentions that it would fit correctly onto the make of my vehicle. I asked twice (via email)if this unit would fit a 2007 Nissan Murano. I received NO answer. When I did receive the unit in the mail, it was broken. The company sent me another one within 2 days. After installing the piece I came to find out that it wasn’t stable, and it wouldn’t grab the vent flap like it was suppose to. When I notified the company of the broken part, it was then that they stated this part would fit on my vehicle. Oh, it fits… But it doesn’t work correctly.

It’s a great idea! And I can’t complain to much, after all it was only $4.00! I’ll make do, and make the best of it!

  4. This works great to mount a GPS on my Ranger, just pull the top of the trim panel above the vents out and hook the ends behind it then push the trim back. Does a good job of holding my bigger GPS steady. The shortcoming to mounting it this way is that when the GPS is not mounted it has the knob sticking out from the upper part of the dash. If you were in an accident and did not have your seat belt fastened properly you could get a nasty surprise.

I have a garmin 755 nav unit for my 2005 prius and the window mount is not very useful. I looked at other mounts but could not find any better than this. For the money spent this works very well and has good adjustments. It’s not the easiest thing to remove but not too hard either. For the price you can’t go wrong
