  2. 3 stars for the unit and while the vendor did ship quick, got me what was described with minimal communication I’m only giving 1 star for the vendor because, sometimes things just don’t feel right. Product works as described. Gets hot during use and scalding hot if placed in say a waterproof enclosure – so just say no to that thought of using it on your motorcycle unless you know there will be no rain. Battery life with display set to 60% brightness – well, fully charged, it lost a bar after just 10 minutes use listening to different voices on it. 400+ USD?? Not worth it in my opinion – dumb mistake on my part for getting caught up in the latest/greatest when I know STRAIGHTFORWARD and SIMPLE is ALWAYS ALWAYS the better route when the poop hits the fan. Here’s what you need to take notice of – the dadgum maps included from this specific vendor. While I’m sure there’s nothing “wrong” legally of course, and re-reading the ad it does state “Full European maps, 44 countries”, MemoryC is an overseas company (don’t see that in shiny lights anywhere on their Amazon page eh?) and shipped my 3790T from Ireland. I’m in Tennessee. Guess which maps come PRELOADED? Yep, Europe – like it states and my loss for comprehending that in a different fashion. Lots of detail on the (Europe) maps like I’m used to for the States on my other units. For North America pretty much so far in my area just major routes and like level 2 or 3 state highways. What else you ask? Lifetime map updates can be purchased, yea, for the preloaded maps. If purchased, you’ll always have the latest for Europe :-) So all in all – lessons learned; try to wait for the Gen2+ version if you have to have this model, read and comprehend every line in whomever’s ad, don’t let saving 50 bucks hose you in the end. I know this is mostly a negative review, which you will not find many on this model – but you know, I’m not trying to rationalize spending over 400 on a toy, or me missing 1 line of many – it is what it is. Peace.

This is the third GPS unit that I have owned over the past 20+ years, and it is the best I’ve ever used. Although nothing is perfect, this unit comes closest when compared to all others I have seen and/or reviewed. The voice command feature while on the road is a SAFETY feature and allows for virtually hands-free operation. The battery does not keep a charge as long as other and previous units, so a power connection is a must for extended trips. The thin design, glass face and ample speaker make this the unit for the traveler who wants all the functional features of a top quality GPS unit. I did not purchase it at Amazon, however. Best Buy had it listed for the same price as the lowest seller on Amazon, making it worth my time to drive 2 miles to save the $10 shipping fee and to get it the same day.

Recently purchased the 3790T. Was impressed by the new terrain 3D graphics they advertised. On using the device

was less than impressed with the graphics. Quit simply, very cheap. Was in the BlackHills of South Dakota and their 3D effects were mainly

green color and brown color on the screen, not alot of terrain. Their 3D advertisement does not look anything like what shows on my device. Called tech support to make sure we had everything hooked up and turned on properly, and we die, but still did not look anything like the advertisement does. Also, other than the bluetooth, not a whole lot of great features as compared to my old Garmin NUVI. Overall, very disappointed in the unit when you consider the price tag, things could

    have been better.
